Now this could be fun: Shonda Rhimes has recruited Lisa Kudrow (Friends) to join the ranks of Scandal this fall.

EW confirmed that Kudrow, who currently stars in the Showtime cult comedy Web Therapy, will recur on the drama when it returns to ABC on Oct. 3.

Deadline, which first reported the news, says that Kudrow will play a politician. She’ll also join an old friend on the show: Kudrow owns a production company with the Emmy-nominated Dan Bucatinsky, who plays Cyrus’ husband James Novak. The two of them executive produce Web Therapy, as well as the TLC show Who Do You Think You Are?
