Universal has optioned a big-screen comedy script from comedian Amy Schumer, with Judd Apatow coming on board as producer to help Schumer develop the project, EW has confirmed. Schumer, who broke out this year with her hit Comedy Central sketch series Inside Amy Schumer, will star in the film.

Apatow has a sharp eye for female comic talent, having, among other things, helped to shepherd Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo’s Bridesmaids script to the screen and collaborated with Lena Dunham to develop the HBO series Girls. Details about the film project are under wraps for now, but in the meantime, Schumer is at work on the second season of Inside Amy Schumer, which is due next year.
