'Breaking Bad': The rom-com re-edit
Slow clap, MHK Productions. Slooooow clap.
Creative editors have been reframing movies and TV shows for years, at least since that brilliant “The Shining Recut” clip hit the Internet way back in the primordial days of 2006. But few work as perfectly as this reimagining of Breaking Bad, which casts sad sack Pilot Walt as a chemistry teacher in need of a little excitement.. and Jesse as the Manic Pixie Meth Cook of his dreams.
Watch out for perfectly chosen musical cues, a gasp-worthy plot curveball, and an underlying sweetness that might just convince you that this is the story Vince Gilligan’s been trying to tell all along. One warning: You’ll never be able to look at that awesomely awkward dinner scene from “Buyout” the same way again.
Walter White descends into the criminal underworld.
