Chris Brown’s reps confirmed reports late Friday that the singer suffered a seizure earlier that day at a Los Angeles recording studio.

“Chris suffered a nonepileptic seizure (NES),” Brown’s rep said in a statement. “His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity.”

Earlier this week, Brown said he might retire from the music business after his next album following a hit-and-run case that threatened his probation stemming from his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.
