• Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3) is in talks to join Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar in a supporting capacity. Naturally, no details were given about the nature of the role, but we’re hoping this could be the beginning of a Topher Grace career reboot. He has a number of projects in the works including The Invitation with Zachary Quinto, The Calling with Susan Sarandon, and A Many Splintered Thing with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans, a.k.a. April and not Andy. [Deadline]

• Danny McBride (This is the End) has reportedly joined the cast of Cameron Crowe‘s new movie alongside Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams. We know basically nothing about the project, but they all (probably) get to go to Hawaii for the September shoot. [The Wrap and Rolling Stone]

• John Lithgow (This Is 40) is set to take the other lead role opposite Alfred Molina (An Education) in Love Is Strange, the Ira Sachs project about a recently wed gay couple forced to live apart for a time. Actor Michael Gambon was originally set for the role, but had to drop out. [Deadline]

• MGM and Fox 2000 have found a female lead for their Poltergeist remake in Rosemarie DeWitt (Your Sister’s Sister). Jobeth Williams played the role in the 1982 Tobe Hooper version. The role of her husband, played by Craig T. Nelson in the original, has yet to be cast. Gil Kenan (Monster House) is set to direct. [Deadline]

• Tammy Blanchard, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of Judy Garland in the ABC biopic Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, has joined the cast of Rob Marshall’s Into the Woods. She’s play an evil stepsister to Cinderella. Blanchard has also won a number of Tonys for her stage work. [Deadline]

• For a movie that touts itself as low-budget, Joe Carnahan’s Stretch certainly has a number of big names attached to star. Jessica Alba (Sin City) is the most recent addition to a cast that includes Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness), Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring), Brooklyn Decker (Just Go With It), and Ed Helms (The Hangover). Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions is producing the action/comedy with Universal about a limo driver (Wilson) trying to oblige his wealthy, eccentric client (Pine). [Deadline]

• Someone has been taking notice of Kellan Lutz’s commitment to weight lifting. The Twilight actor is in talks to star alongside Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables 3. According to the report this third installment of the macho franchise will introduce a younger set of guys to the mix. [The Wrap]

• Clippers player Blake Griffin is diversifying his resume with a feature film role in Flock of Dudes. Melissa Rauch of the Big Bang Theory is also set to join the movie, which follows Chris D’Elia (Whitney) as he tries to ditch his immature friends. [Deadline]
