'Glee' premiere pushed back after Cory Monteith's death
Since Cory Monteith’s death last weekend, fans have mourned the Glee star and wondered: What does this mean for the show? Fox released a statement Friday revealing that the start of production on season 5 — and therefore the season premiere — will be delayed.
“In light of the tragic passing of beloved Glee cast member Cory Monteith, the series’ executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company have jointly decided to delay the start of production of Glee until early August,” the statement read. “Season Five of Glee will now premiere on Thursday, Sept. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox. No further details are available at this time.”
The next Glee season was originally set to debut a week prior, on September 19.
