'Pacific Rim' trailer: GIANT FREAKING ROBOTS FIGHTING HUGE FREAKING MONSTERS

There has been a criminal lack of giant robot monsters fighting giant alien monsters at this summer’s box office, unless you count that scene in Furious 6 when alleged android Vin Diesel and purported cyborg Dwayne Johnson battled that giant German man-thing who may or may not have been a resident of the fifth moon of Saturn. But fortunately for our robot-starved planet, Guillermo Del Toro is preparing to deliver Pacific Rim, a movie where giant alien creatures attack Earth and Earth fights back with skyscraper-sized robo-tanks. The newest trailer shows off lots of Big Things Fighting, and also shows Idris Elba delivering a stirring halftime speech. Jesus, just watch it already:
