Before Burn Notice‘s hundredth episode tonight, check out our exclusive video from USA with a behind-the-scenes look at the episode, which was directed by star Jeffrey Donovan. You’ll learn how Donovan (Michael), Gabrielle Anwar (Fiona), and the show’s creator, Matt Nix, decided what to include in the flashbacks of when Michael and Fiona first met (hint: explosions and some butt-kicking). As Sharon Gless points out, when the show first started it had been ten years since Fiona had seen Michael and now it’s been almost a year.

There’s also a tease for one of the episode’s most emotional and dramatic scenes: the reunion of Michael and his mother (who, you know, is partially responsible for him being in trouble in the first place).

Check out interviews with the cast, a look at what went into the Irish pub flashbacks, and a pretty sweet 100th episode cake in the video below:

USA’s Behind the Burn series airs weekly on USAnetwork.com, and features video interviews that tie key topics and themes from past seasons back to the current week’s episode and storyline.

After you’ve watched the new episode (which airs at 9 p.m. ET) sound off in the comments!
