This is so much better than Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) wandering in the desert with his news team.

In the new trailer for the second season of The Newsroom, the chips are falling where they may. I know that because Jane Fonda’s harpy of a boss says exactly that.

Apparently, Will is being grilled for calling the Tea Party the American Taliban by the U.S. Congress and his own corporate attorney (Marcia Gay Harden). Don and Maggie are still a couple — 13 good days in a row and counting! — and someone says they have revealing photos of Sloan, while Occupy Wall Street and the Romney presidential campaign serve as background. There’s plenty of yelling, whispering, and ladies kicking the crap out of guys in the office. Oh, yeah, and a little walking-and-talking. Watch it below.

The Newsroom returns to HBO on July 14.
