Remember meeting your college roommate for the first time? You hope to become best friends, but fear he or she may be a walking nightmare.

At Monsters University, hey, why not both?

This new clip from Pixar’s upcoming prequel to Monsters, Inc. shows college rivals Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sulley (John Goodman) as they meet some of their new brothers at the Oozma Kappa fraternity.

He doesn’t have any lines, but that’s “mature student” Don Carlton sitting there in the opening shot. He’s a middle-aged Midwestern salesman returning to school amid an economic downturn, and is voiced by Joel Murray (best known for the equally sad-sack Freddy Rumsen on Mad Men.)

Whatever he’s telling Mike and Sulley is interrupted by Terri and Terry Perry (Dave Foley and Sean Hayes), two-headed “twins” who actually have nothing in common — except a digestive track.

Then we meet Art, voiced by Charlie Day, who strikes me as the kind of college student who ostensibly majors in hacky sack out at the quad, or maybe Bob Marley poster accumulation. Touchy-feely, loose-limbed and unshaven, he’s Mr. Nice Monster right now.

First impressions have a habit of changing when you share the same roof, though.

Monsters University is in theaters June 21.
