- TV Show
Music has been an integral part of Phineas and Ferb since its beginning, and now Disney Channel is gearing up to celebrate the show’s best songs in an upcoming special. EW can exclusively announce that next month Disney Channel will air Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown, with the top songs selected by fans in voting that starts tomorrow.
Fashion Police‘s Kelly Osbourne will host the special, which airs Friday, June 28. Bracket-style voting begins tomorrow, Friday, May 24 on DisneyChannel.com. A list of 16 Phineas and Ferb music videos will be whittled down to top picks by June 17 before the final results are revealed in the Cliptastic Countdown.
The special also features a running story of the evil scientist Dr. Doofenschmirtz and Major Monogram trying to steal the hosting gig from Osbourne. Here is Disney Channel’s description of the show:
In Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown, Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram (voiced by Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh) have their hearts set on revealing the top 10 musical numbers, but soon find out that celebrity host Kelly Osbourne has been brought in to fill the role. Unwilling to submit to playing second fiddle, Doofenshmirtz makes it his mission to thwart Kelly until Perry the Platypus sets out to stop his nemesis from ruining the entire show.
This is the second time Disney Channel has put together a Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown. When the first aired in October 2009, “Gitchee-Gitchee Goo,” from the series’ premiere episode, took home the top prize.
