Rooney Mara has landed her first major beauty campaign.

The actress has been named the face of Calvin Klein’s new fragrance Downtown. Mara celebrated the announcement last night in Cannes, where she was honored at Calvin Klein and the Independent Filmmaker Project’s women in film event.

Mara will reunite with Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher to film a television ad for the fragrance that will air this summer. According to a press release from Calvin Klein, the black and white short film tells the “story of a young woman living in her own world, breaking away from the expected. Set in New York City, the short film portrays the multi-faceted life of a globally recognizable actress who always remains true to herself.”

Shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, the ad reveals the Downtown bottle design. In perfume-speak, the women’s fragrance balances feminine woods with soft floral notes.

“I am very excited to be included in the group of amazing women that have been featured in the iconic advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein fragrances,” Mara told Women’s Wear Daily of following in the footsteps of Scarlett Johansson, Diane Kruger, and Eva Mendes.
