Another lackluster broadcast series premiere last night: Goofy freshman sitcom Family Tools had a weak debut Wednesday evening on ABC.

Tools was ABC’s lowest-rated comedy debut ever (read EW’s review here) and down 12 percent from the Neighbors average in this slot. Though at least fellow newcomer How to Live With Your Parents leaped 47 percent thanks to gaining an original Modern Family lead-in.

Also on the dial, Fox’s American Idol sank 13 percent to a new low, though was still No. 1 for the night. NBC’s The Voice managed more than half of Idol‘s rating despite airing a recap episode. NBC’s Chicago Fire grew 6 percent from its last original episode a month ago. CBS’ lineup hit an across-the-board lows. Full chart:
