A storm’s a-brewin’! And we mean that in more ways that one.

After last season’s finale found some of the gang from the former Seattle Grace getting in a fatal plane crash, this season, the danger is coming to them.

“I can say that we have a huge super-storm that’s headed to Seattle and you can take that in however many ways you want to take it,” Chandra Wilson reveals about the season ender. “So because of that, the hospital is in crisis mode — because that’s what we like to do.”

Wilson, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey on the show, adds: “There’s just a lot of things that are going on in the hospital at the same time. So there’s an urgency in the next few episodes, as well, just leading into one of our infamous season finales.”

Among those things? An investigation by the Center for Disease Control, who show up at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Thursday’s new episode to follow-up on a case involving several post-surgical infections. And as show in the last new episode, Bailey is at the center. “They have to get to the bottom of what happened. But, you know, unfortunately, Bailey is the type of person who takes things personally. A lot of it is just really personal — the way she’s treated,” Wilson previews.

The outcome of this investigation, Wilson adds, “will have repercussions for her all the way through the end of the season.”

Grey’s Anatomy’s returns Thursday with new episodes and its finale airs May 16 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
