Suburgatory, that perpetually under-the-radar ABC comedy, ended its second season on a low note in the ratings Wednesday night.

With back-to-back episodes in the 8 p.m. hour, the finale was down 6 percent from last week. The show left several plot threads up in the air for a potential third season, but will ABC give the show another round?

Right now, the odds are slightly against the series returning. With bubble shows that are still not renewed at this point, their fate tends to hinge on the strength of the network’s new pilots. And the buzz at ABC is that comedy development is strong this year. Suburgatory‘s fate will be revealed sometime before the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York City next month.

Meanwhile another ABC comedy, newbie How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life, dropped for the third week in a row, down 20 percent. Fox’s American Idol rose a little more this week, continuing its new upswing. Here’s the full chart:
