Last night, Beyoncé kicked off her Mrs. Carter Show world tour in Belgrade, Serbia, debuting the designer wardrobe she’ll wear as she sings her way across Europe and the United States this summer.

During her kick-off show, the woman who brought us “Freakum Dress” paraded around the stage in an array of costumes — including bedazzled bodysuits, hot pants, and thigh-high boots — by designers like Emilio Pucci, Ralph & Russo (pictured above), DSquared2, and Stuart Weitzman.

Oh yeah, and a gold sequined bodysuit patterned with trompe l’oeil breasts that makes Madonna’s Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra look demure.

“She liked the Pucci girl look and vibe of the last show, but we made unique couture versions to make it extra special and also to suit her needs as a dancer,” Emilio Pucci creative director Peter Dundas — who remixed looks from his autumn/winter 2013-14 collection for the singer — told Vogue. The bodysuit — one of Beyoncé’s signature looks — gets a Pucci twist with zipper detailing and a beaded crocodile motif.

“Doing stage costumes is a little different than a show – it’s like a high voltage version of the runway. For certain tableaux, there were specific needs in terms of colour and, of course, she has to be able to change in 59 seconds. That’s even less than a quick change in a runway show,” Pucci’s Dundas said. The label’s signature prints got a Beyoncé makeover for a pair of barely there short-shorts and a bedazzled lilac bodysuit.
