When NBC’s Sunday Night Football kicks off its next season, someone new will be singing “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”

Yesterday, Faith Hill tweeted, “Amazing 2 have been part of SNF – an honor. I’ve just let everyone there know it’s time 2 let someone else rock the open.” Hill’s departure was confirmed in a statement by Sunday Night Football producer Fred Gaudelli who said, “Faith Hill is family to all of us at Sunday Night Football. For the last six seasons and two Super Bowls, her opening performance of ‘Waiting All Day’ set the tone for SNF and became a television staple. We will always be grateful for her performances and friendship. We wish Faith nothing but continued success.”

Gaudelli also tweeted, “Great love and appreciation to @FaithHill for six great years of rocking the SNF open.”

Hill’s been the show’s voice since 2007, taking over the theme from Pink. No replacement has been named (though the chant for Kelly or Carrie starts now). Take a look at Hill’s theme — a ra-ra chant atop a Joat Jett melody — below. A warning for the pigskin-phobic: It is insanely catchy for an advertising jingle.
