A&E continues its killing streak. The network announced today that it greenlit Those Who Kill, an original scripted series based on a Danish crime series based on the work of author Elsebeth Egholm, for 10 one-hour episodes. Chloë Sevigny stars as Catherine Jensen, who is, in the way of these things, “a freshly minted and incredibly smart police detective who tracks down serial killers.”

Those Who Kill is not a crime procedural about serial killers — it’s a deep serialized character portrait of two compelling yet damaged individuals coming together through the revelation of their dark past,” said A&E President and General Manager Bob DeBitetto in a statement.

James D’Arcy co-stars as a forensic psychiatrist who assists Jensen, who is also grappling with a possibly murderous stepfather and a missing brother. Brian Grazer is exec-producing, with Final Destination scribe Glen Morgan (who is more fondly remembered as a member of the Chris Carter cabal as a writer-producer on The X-Files and Millennium) serving as showrunner and The A-Team director Joe Carnahan helming the pilot. Production begins in the fall with a premiere next year.
