X-Men: Days of Future Past

Bryan Singer continues to serve as lead publicist for X-Men: Days of Future Past, his grand attempt to knit together the various headache-inducing chronological hiccups of his superhero franchise into one beautiful time-hopping sequel-prequel. Over the weekend, Singer tweeted an image of Nicholas Hoult, back in blue as feral scientist the Beast. Except Beast isn’t just blue now: The image shows that the mutant has developed some Hal Jordan gray hair since last we saw him. Take a look:

This could mean we’re looking at Apocalyptic-Future Beast. Or it could mean that Beast is rocking a new look for the ’70s; initial reports suggest that the “Past” of Future Past will be in the early ’70s, about 10 years after First Class.

The quote comes from the “Beauty and the Beast” fairy tale as written by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont. Perhaps the quote indicates there will be more romantic sparks with Jennifer Lawrence’s “beauty” Mystique. Or maybe Trish Tilby will make an appearance? A fanboy can dream…
