The return of 'Mad Men'? We'll drink to that! Cocktails inspired by Don, Megan and more
Mad Men returns this Sunday (AMC at 9/8c) with a special 2-hour premiere. Is the honeymoon over for Mr. and Mrs. Draper? Is Peggy better off now that she’s left Sterling Cooper? Is Roger still tripping? We need answers. We need a drink!
Mix up one of these retro libations and join us.
Whiskey, bourbon, rum — you name it, Don Draper (Jon Hamm) has knocked it back, but his signature cocktail is the classic Old Fashion.
Don’s Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
• 1 1/2 oz. Jim Beam Bourbon
• 2 dashes bitters dissolved in water
• 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Preparation: In an old-fashioned glass, combine sugar and bitters. Add bourbon and ice, and stir gently. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

The Blue Hawaiian
Ingredients:
•3/4 oz. light rum
• 3/4 oz. vodka
• 1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
• 3 oz. pineapple juice
• 1 oz. sweet & sour six
Preparation: Combine all ingredients over ice in a hurricane glass and mix well. Garnish with a slice of pineapple, a cherry, and a cocktail umbrella.

Basil Hayden’s Mad-hattan
Ingredients:
• 2 parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon
• 3/4 parts Dolin Blanc Vermouth de Chambery
• 3 Maraschino cherries
• 1 dash orange bitters
Preparation: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until combined. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with an orange twist.
