Jack Antonoff, guitarist for fun. and boyfriend of Lena Dunham, will not be insulted if you think some of his lyrics are for 3-year-olds. The Grammy winner has penned many of the songs featured in Super WHY! Live — the touring version of the PBS kids’ show — which kicks off in Seattle on April 2. In 2010, Antonoff’s previous band Steel Train played the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! tour; Gabba director Glenn Orsher is also overseeing the Super WHY! tour and asked Antonoff to write new songs and produce the soundtrack. ”I don’t know if there should be much difference between a children’s show and a Bruce Springsteen concert,” says Antonoff. ”Everyone should leave with the same feeling, which is hopefulness.”
