SPOILER AHEAD! Keep reading only if you want to know who was crowned the winner — and which supermodel coach gets to take credit — of the first season of The Face.

To recap: The Oxygen reality competition series featured 12 aspiring models vying to win the title and a contract with ULTA Beauty. The field was divided into three teams, led by a supermodel coaches Naomi Campbell, Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova. Over the course of eight episodes, we saw the ladies compete in a series of fashion-related challenges that involved posing, catwalking and shilling. We didn’t see Naomi Campbell throw any legendary temper tantrums.

Which model emerged victorious?

Devyn Abdullah — a 21-year-old single mother from the Bronx — was crowed the first-ever winner of The Face during last night’s season finale.

Abdullah, who was a member of Karolina Kurkova’s team, beat out fellow finalists Ebony (Team Karolina), Zi Lin (Team Naomi), and Margaux (Team Coco). Along with the privilege of being named “The Face,” Abdullah will serve as “brand ambassador” for ULTA Beauty, which includes fronting the company’s Fall and Holiday 2013 ad campaign.

“This moment, winning The Face, and being Ulta’s face for the 2013 campaign is my break. It’s me getting my foot in the door of the modeling industry, and I’m really excited about it. I want people to love me for me, to be attracted to me for my story and where I come from and to recognize me as a businesswoman. It’s amazing,” Abdullah told Time. “Being a single mother, working four jobs before I did this show—any single mother can relate to how hard that is. I was made to model and I was made to be a mother, so why not do just that? The Face definitely helped me with it.”

Still, as it stands with most reality competitions, you don’t have to win to reap the benefits. On her People StyleWatch blog, Coco Rocha wrote that big things are already happening for the finalist from her team: “Margaux has since been signed to my agency, Wilhelmina NY, and is being guided by the same amazing agents who have worked with me for the last decade. This last month Margaux was featured in Virgin Mobile’s television spots (airing between commercial breaks of The Face!) and recently shot a campaign with Target.”
