This isn’t your typical music festival. Not only was KindieFest the first of its kind — a music festival designed for family entertainment — it has grown into a full fledged industry and entertainment conference. For its fifth year, KindieFest is partnering with the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and expanding its programming to include two full days of panels on April 26 and 27, as well as the annual public festival on Sunday, April 28, boasting classic children’s entertainment acts like Dan Zanes, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Father Goose, all of whom are working on new studio albums. Sunday’s public festival will also include a performance by folk Americana band The David Wax Museum – trying their hand out a children’s music.

EW’s own Abby West will be moderating a panel on Saturday too, on the growth of the genre with panelists including Columbia University’s Tyler Bickford, Ralph Covert, Molly Ledford, Jeff Bogle. Check out some highlights from the schedule below and some of the bands we’re most excited about.
