Two things you probably didn’t expect to hear about the Scary Movie franchise: the fifth movie has a new trailer — and it doesn’t really spoof anything.

OK, yes, the movie’s story does send-up Mama (two heathen children adopted by a smiling white couple), with dashes of found footage, Evil Dead, and a sequence featuring Honey Boo Boo in a box. And…that’s it: In the more than two minute-long trailer, the references keep circling back to those earlier films. The heathen children are mistaken for lesbian lovers. The exorcist the family hires is actually a black con man. Honey Boo Boo is a contortionist living in a cardboard box.

The cast is mostly all-new, scrubbed clean of the repertory company who palled around for the earlier Scary Movie(s) (goodbye, Anna Faris; hello, Ashley Tisdale) and David Zucker, hallowed for his Airplane! script, has a writing credit. But is Scary Movie 5 funnier for the changes?

Judge for yourself after the jump.
