The latest viral riff on Westeros imagines how the HBO serieswould look if it had been produced in 1995. Check out the Xena-esque production values, ’80s-inflected theme song, and close-ups of fond smiles below.
Laugh-inducing as the finished product is, the concept isn’t that crazy, considering the first book in George R. R. Martin’s series hit shelves in 1996. Humor us for a minute, PopWatchers: Who do you think would have actually starred in Game of Thrones had it existed in the mid ’90s? Personally, I believe Kevin Sorbo missed a big opportunity to put his stamp on Ned Stark.
