Time to send Rihanna some get-well cards.

RiRi only started her six-month Diamonds world tour last Friday, but she’s already had to cancel a date due to laryngitis. The “Stay” singer was scheduled to perform at a sold-out show at Boston’s TD Garden last night but dropped out on the advice of a doctor, according to a Live Nation statement.

“Unfortunately, following her sold out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor’s instruction is unable to perform this evening,” the statement read.

Rihanna’s Twitter, where she apologized to expectant Bostonians, offered a more personal touch to the bad news. “#Boston this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we’ve been waiting on this day forever, and I’m hurt that I let you down,” she tweeted. The singer followed that up with another second apologetic update that read, “I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!! I’m so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!”

Her next scheduled tour date is tomorrow at Baltimore. Rihanna’s rep declined to comment on the singer’s recovery to EW but stated that no further dates were canceled as of now.

UPDATE: Rihanna has indeed canceled tonight’s show in Baltimore, which will be postponed to a later date. “Rihanna is still recovering,” read a statement from Live Nation. Her next show is scheduled for this Thursday in Philadelphia.
