Generation Um

  • Movie

In the new trailer for Generation Um… Keanu Reeves answers the question “Will two young woman let you film them in their underwear and ask them deeply personal questions if it’s in service to like, a deeper understanding of life and just getting, like, a real sense of New York City and stuff like that, bro?” (The answer is: yes, but only in indie films).

In the movie, Reeves plays John, a driver for an escort service, and Carey-Mulligan-doppleganger Adelaide Clemens and Bojana Novakovic play two escorts who are also his friends. When John steals a camcorder, things get contemplative.

Apple debuted the trailer today. Watch for the high point when everyone’s favorite Smash dramaturg (Daniel Sunjata) tells Keanu, “Bro, you got to grab that boo-yah where you can before some other dumba– grabs it away from you.”

If anyone has a better idea of how to spell “boo-yah” or a definition not yet on UrbanDictionary, let me know (but keep it PG).

The movie comes out May 3.
