ABC stops 'Zero Hour' clock
Apologies for this pun in advance: Zero Hour has … run out of time!
ABC is pulling the ambitious global conspiracy Nazi clone kidnapping Da Vinci clock drama-thing from its schedule.
The series starring Anthony Edwards was knuckle-dragging in the ratings on Thursdays at 8 p.m. for three weeks. Last night’s episode delivered 5 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. The show’s morning Nielsen numbers trend has been pretty grim, launching with a mere 1.3 rating for its premiere, then posting a 1.1 last week and now a 1.0.
ABC has yet to confirm the news or announce a replacement, but we’re hearing it’s only a matter of … yeah. ABC confirmed. Repeats of Shark Tank will take over the slot for the next two weeks, then the regular non-celebrity version of Wife Swap will return starting March 21. The remaining Zero Hour episodes might air during the summer.
The network’s hopes will shift to Sunday’s premiere of promising new series Red Widow, about a woman (Radha Mitchell) forced to take over her husband’s crime empire (really liked the pilot … but then I also really liked the Last Resort pilot). Here’s the show’s trailer (warning: it sort of gives away the whole pilot).
