Those hoping for a Mark and Sarah reconciliation on Parenthood might be out of luck.

Jason Ritter has just landed a lead role in Fox’s Friends & Family pilot. Ritter will play Gavin, an “adorably neurotic and witty” guy with “Woody Allen DNA” who begins dating a co-worker he befriended through Skype and Facebook, according to casting intel.

The half-hour, single-cam comedy is based off the BBC hit Gavin and Stacey.

Ritter most recently had a recurring role on NBC’s Parenthood, playing a love interest for Lauren Graham’s Sarah. In the show’s season finale, Sarah chose to pursue Ray Romano’s character, leaving Ritter’s future on the show uncertain.
