Jason! CeCe! Melissa! Wren! This episode was full of so many familiar faces that I might have suffered some minor whiplash … but I know I’ll recover faster than Jason, who was dropped to his almost-death in an elevator. Was it the “A” team? Was it the N.A.T. Club? Let’s dig in!

Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 19 “What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted” contained quite a few memorable moments. From the reintroduction of Wren’s precious accent to the new introduction of Andrew’s abs (Toby, who?), we quickly learned that only one thing can come of the broken-hearted — drama.

Spencer spent the episode arguing with Mona, playing strip history-quiz with Andrew, hanging out with Wren, and then experiencing a psychotic break and choking Mona. I would say that Mona didn’t have it coming, but she did. However, I would like to thank her for calling Wren. I have missed the good doctor.

But Spencer’s drama was quickly topped by Emily’s, who spent the episode trying to uncover the Detective Wilden-Ali-CeCe secret with Jason. First things first, last week’s owner of the Velcro wallet bought a lot more than one bottle of whiskey, and they (thoughtfully?) put them on Jason’s doorstep claiming that he would need them. And they were right. After Emily and Jason found an old photo of Ali, CeCe and Detective Wilden at Cape May, somebody turned their elevator ride into a nightmare. Emily was able to escape. Jason, not so much. But luckily — or perhaps according to plan — Jason survived and later disappeared from the hospital after claiming that the N.A.T. Club wanted him gone. Could Melissa’s return and CeCe’s not-so-subtle matchmaking have to do with what happened to Jason?

But let’s take a step back from the old familiar faces and focus on the new ones. Hanna spent the episode successfully reuniting Caleb with his uncle-turned-father Jamie. Although, it seemed Jamie might have some sticky fingers. And then there’s Aria, who found out that Wesley loves literature just as much as his older bro. Their other common interest? Kissing Aria. Is Ezra going to be mad? More importantly, can you blame a girl for kissing Wesley after he rapped like that?

The episode ended with the disappearance of the Ali-CeCe-Wilden photo, the disappearance of Jason, and a very creepy cheers. Two “A” team members played a quick game of spin the bottle to see which Liar-themed whiskey bottle they would drink from (aka which Liar they would attack next?). When the bottle pointed to Aria, “A” team member number two quickly redirected to Spencer, because, you know, she hasn’t gone through enough. Was that Mona and Toby? Does Toby have it out for Spencer even more now that she knows his secret? And what’s up with Jason? Was he a part of the elevator tragedy, or was he a victim? Is the N.A.T. Club still in action?

Finally, what does Jason’s flashback tell us about the night that Ali died. Why were CeCe and Ali both wearing yellow? Could CeCe be the blonde in the red coat?

Four little liars and a being named “A” (who may or may not be the fifth little liar) try to live their lives in Rosewood. It’s complicated.
