ABC orders John Leguizamo comedy pilot
John Leguizamo wants to make a comedy about his life.
The actor will star in a sitcom pilot for ABC that’s based on his existence as a husband, father and fish out of water on the upper side of New York. Here’s the official logline from the network: “Woven into this world are his privileged life, his friends from his life back in the Bronx, his mother and grandfather who try to keep him grounded in his Latin roots, and his own kids who he worries about getting spoiled and losing touch with reality.”
Leguizamo has a long history of working in TV. In 1995, he created and starred in a variety show for Fox called House of Buggin. He also was in ER for the 2005-06 season, and shot a drama pilot for CBS in 2006 in which he played a Los Angeles detective. He also headlined The Kill Point for Spike TV and was a guest star in My Name is Earl for NBC.
