The Daily Show veteran Rob Corddry has landed the starring role in ABC’s Spy.

The pilot is based on a British comedy series that centers on a well-intentioned father of a highly intelligent and verbal son, who also happens to be his complete opposite, inadvertently takes a job at the secret service in order to prove himself a worthy father. The single-camera comedy is from Simeon Goulden, the creator of the UK version, and executive produced by Jimmy Mulville for his Hat Trick Productions.

Since leaving The Daily Show, Corddry has appeared in several feature films like Blades of Glory, Semi-Pro and Hot Tub Time Machine. He also created Adult Swim’s cult-favorite Childrens Hospital.
