Brooke Shields is swapping her lipstick for a U.S. Air Force uniform.

ABC has confirmed that Shields is joining the seventh season of Lifetime’s hit show Army Wives as a recurring guest star. Shields will play Col. Katherine “Kat” Young, a crack C-17 pilot who finds herself at odds with Army General Michael Holden, played by Brian McNamara.

Described as “brash and brilliant” in an ABC press release, Shields’s character will have to fight to hold her ground in the middle of one of the biggest boys clubs that the U.S. has to offer. But after Young reveals her tragic past, she will discover some common ground with General Holden.

Shields joins Jesse McCartney and new series regulars Elle McLemore, Ashanti and Torrey DeVitto in the show’s seventh season.
