EW critic Lisa Schwarzbaum has already named Fruitvale one of her favorite movies at Sundance, and just hearing writer/director Ryan Coogler and his cast talk about the film — based on the true story of Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan), an unarmed young Bay Area man shot down by police — you start to understand why. Coogler and Jordan joined castmates Octavia Spencer, Melonie Diaz, and Ahna O’Reilly in EW’s Sundance interview lounge.
