Doctor Who React

The longrunning British science fiction show Doctor Who has repeatedly portrayed gay, lesbian, and bisexual characters in a positive light — even when the character in question happens to be a green lizard-lady. Now the LGBTQ community is reciprocating that affection in book form.

Mad Norwegian Press has announced that it will publish a collection of essays called Queers Dig Time Lords: A Celebration of Doctor Who by the LGBTQ Fans Who Love It. A sequel to the same publishing house’s Hugo award-winning Chicks Dig Time Lords, this new book will feature contributions penned by fantasy author Tanya Huff and Doctor Who Encyclopedia author Gary Russell, amongst others. The tome’s introduction comes courtesy of John Barrowman — who portrays the very frisky Captain Jack Harkness on both Doctor Who and Torchwood — and his writer sister Carole E.

Queers Dig Time Lords will be published on June 4. In the meantime, you can check out Captain Jack at his most frisky in the video below.
