A pair of new posters for Harmony Korine’s candy-colored R-rated comedy Spring Breakers recently hit the web. One is artsy and evocative; the other features James Franco wielding a gun while a quartet of bikini-clad babes (including ex-Disney Channel stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, as well as Pretty Little Liar Ashley Benson) vamp around him.
But which is meant for domestic audiences, and which is for their foreign counterparts? The answer may surprise you:
If you squint, you may be able to see that the second poster bills the movie as “un film de Harmony Korine.”
So wait, this means the one with all the boobs isn’t targeting the American market? Has this movie’s marketing team ever been to America?
