Get ready for more backstabbing and bombshells: Days of our Lives is renewed!

The iconic soap – which will air its 12,000 episode Jan. 11 – was recently renewed through Sept. 2014.

Days of our Lives has maintained a loyal and dedicated fan base for more than four decades and continues to reach a new generation of viewers,” Steve Mosko, President of Sony Pictures Television, said in a press release. “We appreciate NBC’s support over the years and, as the show celebrates this significant milestone, we are thrilled that the show will continue to be a part of the NBC family.”

Days of our Lives first premiered as a half-hour drama in 1965 and expanded to an hour 10 years later. This news follows the announcement that cancelled soaps All My Children and One Life to Live are being resurrected online.
