Is it just us, or is everyone moving to Portlandia? This season Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s sketch comedy boasts more guest stars than ever: Chloë Sevigny plays a recent Seattle transplant. Patton Oswalt is an Evite prankster. Also stopping by: Jeff Goldblum, Juliette Lewis, Rose Byrne, Bill Hader, and… Roseanne Barr? ”The mayor of Portland [Kyle MacLachlan] disappears, and through a temp agency, she fills in as mayor,” says Armisen. ”She does things in the most efficient way. Because the character didn’t grow up in Portland, she doesn’t have the same understanding of how things go.” Meanwhile, Armisen and Brownstein will be satirizing natural deodorant, spoiler-alert fiends, and friends who expect you to spend waaaay too much money on their birthday parties. That last sketch features an airborne No Doubt. ”We wanted a ridiculous ending,” says Brownstein. ”And there’s nothing more heightened than having a huge rock band in a hot-air balloon.”
