EW critics Lisa Schwarzbaum and Owen Gleiberman were not impressed with Les Miserables.

“There’s a song in Les Mis called ‘Do You Hear the People Sing’?’ Lisa says. “I think in Les Mis … it’s, “Can you hear the wallets ka-ching?” Because this is a year-end movie that is made to blow your socks off.”

“Can you tell from this set up, it did not do it for me?” Lisa adds. “It’s demanding to be big, and it’s not.”

“I had mixed feelings about Les Mis, as well,” Owen says. “It peaks a little bit early.”
