First photos of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' wedding ceremony
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina on September 9, and now the newlyweds are ready to give us a glimpse into their intimate celebration.
The first look of the big day, posted on Martha Stewart Weddings, only has a sole image of the couple holding hands with a small peek at the edges of the actress’ Marchesa wedding gown and her groom’s Burberry suit. You can also see Reynolds’ Loraine Schwartz ring — the jeweler designed rings for them both.
It’s a tease, but Stewart’s team explains: “We quickly discovered that Ryan and Blake are not like the many altar-bound celebrities who sell their big-day photos to the highest bidder. This public, yet very private, couple’s sole wish was to have an intimate affair (there were only 35 guests total). And while they remain protective of images of them on their most heartfelt occasion, they graciously let us share pictures of the elements we created together.” Accordingly, there are plenty of closeups of the decor including Blake’s bouquet, their wedding cake and an elaborate sweets display.
The bride’s bouquet, designed by Weddings’ style director Kate Berry, featured roses, pink jasmine, andromeda, dusty miller, and blushing bride hydrangea, with petals dipped in shimmery rose-gold dust to “play up the embroidery of the same color on the bride’s couture ball gown.”
Lively, who once took culinary lessons at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France, “envisioned an abundant dessert table overflowing with their favorite treats,” the magazine reports. “The focal point was their vanilla-and-sour-cream wedding cake with peach-apricot preserves and Earl Grey-milk chocolate buttercream made by Maggie Austin Cake in Alexandria, Virginia.” In addition, the couple’s guests enjoyed s’mores, blueberry cheesecake tartlets, pates de fruits and mini strawberry shortcakes.More wedding details and exclusive images from the Reynolds-Lively wedding will run in the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, on sale December 24.Read more: Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are marriedGift of the Day: Ryan Reynolds Face Chair‘Mad Men’ As Wedding Theme?
