Not sure what to get the pop culture geek in your life this holiday season? PopStyle is here to help! From the hottest gadgets to the oddest collectibles, we’re rounding up the best gifts in movies, music, TV and books with our Gift of the Day.
The only thing better than watching Felix Baumgartner’s space jump? Watching Felix Baumgartner’s space jump reenacted with LEGOs.
My nephew Zach and I are obsessed with LEGO, so I plan to pick up this stop animation video camera ($74.99 at amazon.com) on my way home for the holidays. We can create our own reenactments, record regular video and take still photos, plus it comes with software that will give us the capability to edit our footage and add text and other graphics. Now all we have to do is witness an action-packed event worthy of a LEGO homage. (My brother yelling at the TV during the Cowboys-Saints game? Not going to make the cut.)
By the way, if you haven’t seen The Guardian‘s awesome “Brick-by-Brick” animated reconstructions of highlights from the 2012 London Olympics — including Michael Phelps swimming to his 16th gold medal and South Korea’s Shin A-lam’s protest at the women’s fencing final — stop what you’re doing and click here.
