Did Angus T. Jones’ controversial bashing of his sitcom Two and a Half Men hurt the show?

Nope, millions still watched “filth.” Thursday night’s Men episode (titled “I Scream When I Pee”) delivered 13.8 million viewers and a 4.1 preliminary rating among adults 18-49.

That’s the same demo rating as the hit comedy’s last original episode two weeks ago — which was a season high for the show. If anything, one would expect a decline for Men coming off its one-week break and a season high. Especially since Men‘s lead-in Big Bang Theory (17.1 million, 5.4), the night’s highest-rated and most-watched show, dipped 5 percent last night. One caveat: Men might eventually drop a tenth of a point in the national ratings since there’s a minute of Big Bang overrun into its slot.

Jones slammed his long-running sitcom in an online religious testimonial posted on YouTube earlier this week. The video became a media sensation. The actor has since apologized to those involved with the series, though didn’t really take back his criticisms of the show itself.

Also Thursday: ABC’s Scandal delivered a season high in the ratings and tied CBS’ Elementary for the first time in the demo, the latter taking a 4 percent dip. Scandal continues to operate pretty independently of its powerful Grey’s Anatomy lead-in too, because the medical drama slipped this week. At 8 p.m. Last Resort, which wasn’t picked up for a full season, was down 17 percent to a low. On The CW, an eventful episode of Vampire Diaries was up 15 percent, which also helped Beauty and the Beast. On NBC, everything was lower compared to its previous original episodes except 30 Rock.
