The press campaign for Zero Dark Thirty is slowly revealing more bits and pieces about Kathryn Bigelow’s true-life docudrama. Bigelow and her screenwriter Mark Boal, who previously collaborated for The Hurt Locker, went on Nightline earlier this week to chat about the film. The resulting video is a feast for espionage mavens and film fans alike, as Bigelow and Boal reveal some of the top-secret true stories from the Bin Laden manhunt while also demonstrating a bit of their craft. They discuss the female CIA agent who inspired the character “Maya,” played by Jessica Chastain. Bigelow also lets Nightline into the editing room to show her polishing off the audio mix on the final assault on Bin Laden’s compound. (The director discusses rebuilding the terrorist’s house, right down to the carpeting.) There’s also lots of great footage from Zero Dark Thirty, just to whet your appetite. Check it out:
