Want to offer Disney’s newest princess a royal welcome? Just set your DVRs for Friday, Jan. 11, when the animated series Sofia the First premieres on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. The first episode airs at 9:30 a.m. ET on the former and 5:30 p.m. ET on the latter.

Audiences first met Sofia earlier this month, when her TV movie bowed to impressive ratings. Her weekly series will pick up where the film left off, following the princess’s adventures as she navigates life in Enchancia. Voice actors Ariel Winter (Sofia), Sara Ramirez (Queen Miranda), Wayne Brady (Sofia’s rabbit sidekick Clover), and Tim Gunn (royal steward Baileywick) will all continue their roles. Sofia‘s first season will feature guest appearances by Viola Davis, Megan Mullally, Kiernan Shipka, and Winter’s Modern Family costar Eric Stonestreet as well.

Additionally, Disney’s press release reveals that princesses Ariel, Aurora, Belle, and Jasmine will appear “in event episodes throughout the year, offering Sofia words of wisdom when she needs it most.”

Earlier this year, Sofia was the focus of some controversy when executive producer Jamie Mitchell called the character Disney’s first Latina princess. Disney Junior’s senior vice president later said that Mitchell had misspoke, but did indicate that Disney Junior is developing a project that features a Latina heroine.
