Anna Nicole Smith's daughter models for fashion brand Guess
Anna Nicole Smith broke into the mainstream modeling industry — she had scored her first Playboy cover just months earlier — when she was named the Guess girl in 1992. Now, the late reality TV star’s 6-year-old daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, is following in her mother’s footsteps with a starring role in the Guess Spring 2013 kids’ campaign.
“Dannielynn has the same playful spirit that her mother had on a set,” Paul Marciano, the Creative Director of Guess Inc. who signed Anna Nicole as the face of the label, said of Dannielynn’s inherited talent for playing to the camera. “She is a second-generation Guess girl, which makes this campaign a first for us.”
Dannielynn was only five months old when Anna Nicole was found dead of a drug overdose in February 2007. Her father, Larry Birkhead, says that the budding model wants to be just like her mother.
“Dannielynn had fun paying tribute to her mom with the Guess ad campaign, but it is back to school for her,” Birkhead, told Entertainment Tonight during an interview taped at the fashion shoot. “The first thing she asked is ‘When will I be on the shopping bags like Mommy?'”
The Guess Spring 2013 kids’ campaign, which also features the daughter of music producer Babyface, will be unveiled in mid-January.
