Big news from the Capitol! The Hunger GamesElizabeth Banks, 38, revealed Nov. 14 that she and husband Max Handelman welcomed their second son, Magnus Mitchell Handelman, via gestational surrogate.

Police in Missouri say they foiled a man’s plot to open fire at a screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. Blaec Lammers, 20 — who allegedly purchased assault rifles and ammo for an attack similar to July’s Aurora, Colo., massacre at a screening of The Dark Knight Rises — was arrested Nov. 15 and faces charges of attempted first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and making a terroristic threat…. The case against a photographer who chased Justin Bieber has hit a roadblock. On Nov. 14 a judge dismissed charges filed under California’s new anti-paparazzi law against Paul Raef, a photographer accused of pursuing Bieber, 18, down a freeway earlier this year. (The judge said the statute is overly broad, casting doubt on the law’s constitutionality.) Raef still faces misdemeanor counts of reckless driving and failing to obey a lawful order.

Survivor: Philippines contestant (and former star of The Facts of Life) Lisa Whelchel, 49, tweeted Nov. 13 that she has the West Nile virus. ”I’m fine, just tired,” she wrote.

Lucille Bliss, 96, star of the groundbreaking animated series Crusader Rabbit and voice of Smurfette on the ’80s cartoon The Smurfs, died of natural causes Nov. 8 in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Nov. 27 Kathryn Bigelow, 61
Nov. 28 Jon Stewart, 50
Nov. 29 Anna Faris, 36
Nov. 30 Elisha Cuthbert, 30; Ridley Scott, 75
