On Wednesday, we posted a photo teasing tonight’s episode of Two and a Half Men that features a mystery man named Sid Olsen talking to Alan Harper (Jon Cryer). We then asked readers to guess his identity.

To those who assumed it was Cryer who donned the old age makeup, you are….

…absolutely right!

It took the Men makeup team four hours to transform Cryer into an older version of himself for tonight’s episode on CBS. “[Exec Producers] Chuck Lorre and Eddie Gorodetsky approached me about whether I’d be willing to do it,” Cryer told EW. “I was cautiously positive, but I made the guys promise me that if I couldn’t sell it, they’d hire an actual old guy. I think that they really liked the idea that it’d be someone that Alan could see aspects of himself in, and who better? They never replaced me, so either I got away with it, or they are too frightened to tell me I blew it.

“We shot the Sid half of the scene in the morning, then cleaned me up, and shot the Alan half in the evening,” Cryer continued. “It was much easier to shoot Alan.”

Asked if he thinks that’s how he’ll actually look in 30 years, Cryer had this to say: “Sid has fantastic hair, but I’m afraid that ship has already sailed for me.”
