Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf? Everyone in Storybrooke.
At least, that’s the case this week when a man turns up dead following the first post-curse full moon, leaving more than a few suspicions directed toward resident wolf-girl, Ruby. And as Meghan Ory teases, Ruby isn’t taking the pressure well. “The main thing that’s been on her mind is ‘What’s going to happen? Am I going to turn into a wolf?'” she says. “She’s been having some wolf senses come back, so this is the make or break point. She’s pretty stressed out.”
Luckily, she has a lot of people in her corner — from crossbow-wielding Granny to David, who Ory says has been a great support system for Ruby this season. “David is kind of a brother figure to her and I like how their relationship develops,” she says. “I think they’re always there for each other.”
Which is not unlike her relationship with David’s other half, Snow, who we see in a flashback this week. “In fairy tale land, we’re picking up right after ‘Red-Handed,’ so it’s right after she’s found out she’s a wolf and right after she’s killed Peter and run off with Snow,” says Ory. “So Red’s in a pretty high-anxiety situation as well. You’re going to see a different side of both Red and Ruby in this episode.”
And while Ruby finds comfort from a few in Storybrooke, Red will find herself being drawn to a pack of humans/wolves, led by the sexy and mysterious Anita (played by Annabeth Gish). “She ends up being a very important person to Red in her time of need,” teases Ory, who stayed mum on whether or not the two characters share a deeper, familial connection. “You’ll have to watch to find out.”
