Hart of Dixie kicked off last week, and so far, Rachel Bilson’s Zoe has proved that even one of TV’s most fashionable characters can evolve her style.

In a sitdown with EW, the star chatted about how Zoe’s decision to free herself from romantic drama has come with a fashion benefit as well — she’s opening herself up to more color! “It was strictly neutrals and blacks and greys and things like that, but she strengthens a little more this season,” she says. “It’s Zoe feeling more comfortable and maybe she’s in a better place.”

But as at-home as she’s feeling in Bluebell these days, don’t look for her to sport a hoop skirt again any time soon. As Bilson reveals in the video below, that came with far too many technical issues.
