For the first time in its 91 year history, a man will serve as the face of the Chanel No. 5 fragrance for women. And what a face it is.

Later this month, the brand will unveil a new campaign — including print ads and a short film shot by Anna Karenina director Joe Wright — starring Brad Pitt. “To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view,” Chanel Fragrance and Beauty President Andrea d’Avack told Women’s Wear Daily of the new direction. “We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume.”

In a teaser released this week, Pitt gives us more of a, well, tease, than the full-on seduction treatment. The 7-second audio clip has him asking, “Are you going somewhere? Where?” and an accompanying image shows just the back of his head. Guess we’ll have to wait until the full commercial debuts on October 15 to get total satisfaction.
